“Voskehat” Armenian golden grapes
Voskehat is an Armenian endemic variety of grapes. Under the sunlight, these white fruits seem really gilded, semi-transparent, and full of sun rays. The grapes are sweet and used to produce wonderful dry, dessert, and sherry wines. The bouquet is full of strong floral and fruity flavors, with shades of melon and pear.
A lot of connoisseurs find Voskehat sherry (Jerez) a masterpiece of winemaking art. For many centuries, there was a misconception that sherry wine could only be Spanish. Everything changed in 1931 when scientists discovered a yeast membrane from sherry yeast in Voskehat wines. From then on, wonderful sherries have been produced in Armenia, with a unique bouquet of flavors and a faint aroma of almonds, for over 90 years.
The rare 30-year-old Armenian sherries are especially valuable and are a real treasure for collectors who admire them.
This is how "Zimastutyun" and "Zkhrat" wines are “born”.
